As of today my daughter Destiny Hope is 21 days old. I pray each and every day that she is still here with us. She was not suppose to make it past birth because she has a rare disease that not many babys get. She has proved the doctors wrong though. She is showing them that she is a fighter and that she plans on staying here.
I need everyone to continue to pray for her. we need all the prayers we can get. I would go crazy if I ever lost her. She is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I want to thank everyone that has prayed for her and I would appreciate it if you would continue to pray for her. Thanks

My non-biological niece was diagnosed with a pregnancy that was deemed at 7 months to have a chromosome 18 birth. This is where the child will be born with many defects and many of them remain undetermined until the actual birth of the child. I had been with her on many specialist appointments and this being her first pregnancy was a pretty frightening thing to deal with and on top of this issue she is a main caregiver for her Mom who presently is going through dialisis and other issues.

The baby was born by c-section and she was gone over with a fine tooth comb. She was born at 1:56 pm and around the 5 to 6 pm hour the baby's oxygen level declined tremendously and we were informed that the prognosis was not good. All of the people that were at the hospital all joined hands in a complete circle, all touching one another, and prayed so intently for this child and her mother. I believe that miracles happen every day and I think Destiny Hope is in fact one of those miracles.

Destiny is now at home and has in home visits to monitor her condition but she is eating and growing and this is a true testament to others that God listens and knows our hearts.

If you read this, please continue to pray for Destiny Hope and her Mom, Tonya, as they will need continued strength for the remainder of their lives. We do not always get in life what we want but I know first hand the God does not gives us anymore than we can take and it is remarkable what inner strength that we have until we call on it.

Thank you for reading and sharing in this story.

Miracle Baby

Today I saw a miracle. A student of mine delivered a baby girl yesterday. Her Mother called crying to let me know the doctor told her the baby would not live more than an hour after delivery. Baby girl was born with too many medical problems. I felt I should allow the family to say "goodbye" to baby, so I decided to wait until the following day to visit my student in the hopital.

When I walked in the hopital room I saw an aunt holding the baby girl. Family members relayed the events that occured during the night. Fifteen family members and friends spent most of the night holding the baby girl, talking to her and telling her how much they love her and want her to live. They held hands making a circle with Mommy holding the baby while praying. They continued to pray for hours. At one point the hospital pastor entered the circle of prayers.

During my visit, I was informed that baby girl was sucking a bottle, had urinated and had a bowel movement.
While I was holding her, she made noises like any healthy newborn baby, squeezed my hand and opened her eyes. My student could not have been prouder.

Miracles happen every day. We just need to look for them and ask for more; then be grateful for our blessings.

This family paid it forward!

The way of life I live

I was in 9th grade when a friend and I started having problems. We would lie to each other none stop and she would get mad that I would have older friends. Her boyfriend cheated on her a number of times and I would tell her, but she wouldn't believe me. She was the only friend I could turn to. but I couldn't trust her anymore.I got sick in the head and started cutting and buring myself. I would ask God to please help me so I would take it day by day. This girl that had been a good friend of our family gave me a ride home from a basketball game. She asked why I looked so sad and I told her why. It's like God gave me the world's best gift. She was there 24/7 for me even when I lied and said I didn't cut. She found out and we would start everything over until I got better.

A year past and she graduated, then on to college. I'm in my 10th grade year. I started again only because I was best friends with 2 guys who made me do things. It hit me again. The girl that helped me before was still in my life and she helped me all over again. She is my hero. My own angel. Because of her I pay it forward to this family and to other friends and the world. I'm in 12th grade now and helping a family in big need and other people I meet. Because of the one person who helped me, I want to help the world, so I pay it forward by using the skills someone taught me to make other people's life better and happy.

So right now I spend every day with this family that had drug problems.  The 16 year old got pregnant.  Mom and the Dad fight all the time. Dad cheated on the Mom all the time. I have been with the family almost a year. Now since I paid it forward Mom is clean with drugs and Dad isn't an alcholic any more. Two out of the 3 don't smoke or do drugs nor drink any more. The 16 year old Mom is working really hard on life. I have taught them how to pay it forward. My whole life changed because one person wanted to help out and old friend. So I spend each day showing others how they can help themselves and other people. You may save a person's life if you take a chance.
